Mac ‘n’ Cell is a website to show what you can do if you just try. I have a passion for tech stuff, especially Macs and getting them to work with other devices. The site is meant to be the “go-to” place to find out about which phones and related devices work best with your Mac.

Hosting MacnCell.com

Originally this site was hosted quite humbly in my living room on a Mac mini running Mac OS X 10.4 (not the server edition), using my home cable connection (shh, don’t tell anyone!) and mostly open source (and free) software. During that time, the server software used was Plone with an Apache front-end. While the mini could keep up with regular traffic, when the site was hit heavily by a site like MacRumors, the bandwidth couldn’t keep up.

During 2007, I slowly migrated the content from the site to Drupal and now I’m hosting it on a simple GoDaddy account. We’ll see how long this lasts!
