According to documents submitted to the FCC by Motorola, the E790 will have iTunes capabilities.  See photos of the phone and the owners manual explaining how to use the iTunes functionality below.

As I've reported before, the Motorola E790 is essentially the Motorola E398, but with different software and in white.  It also has an additional soft-key to access iTunes Mobile player at the push of a button.

According to the manual provided to the FCC, simply connect the phone to your Mac, open iTunes, and the phone will appear as a device.  From there, you can drag and drop songs onto phone like a iPod Shuffle playlist.  It's unclear whether or not the phone can use AutoFill, but this is likely a limitation of iTunes rather than the phone.  It's also unknown
if the phone will be able to receive video files with this method.

Additionally, the manual indicates some additional DRM capabilities, not necessarily pertaining to iTunes:

store and use protected content

If you try to play a copyrighted file, it might ask you to download a license. Some licenses only let you play a file for a certain number of times or days. You cannot send, copy, or change copyrighted files.

For example, a license may allow you to play the content of your download 5 times or use the content for 3 days before it expires.

To activate downloaded copyrighted files:

Find it: Press M > >ActivationList >filetype>file

You can see file’s Status, Type, Activation, and CountsRemaining.

No word when this phone will appear for sale in the US, but FCC approval often indicates what we're about to see on store shelves.
